Concrete cutting in North Port FL - clean, straight cuts with the dust kept down
Need a section of slab out, a trench cut or a new opening? We saw straight, clean lines so the next step goes smoothly.

Liberty North Port Concrete is a concrete contractor based in North Port, and our own crew handles flatwork like driveways, patios and pool decks along with slabs, walls and footings. Concrete cutting is part of that work. We saw through slabs and walls for homeowners and property owners in North Port and the cities around it, and we plan each cut before the blade touches it.
- Owner plans every cut on site
- Wet cutting to keep dust down
- Cleanup done before we leave
Planning a concrete cutting job in North Port
Concrete cutting is sawing straight lines through a slab or wall so a section can come out, a trench can go in or a new door opening can be made. Homeowners usually call us when part of a driveway has cracked or sunk, a line has to run under a slab, or a patio needs reshaping before new work goes in.
Sawing and removal are separate jobs, so I first work out whether you want only the cuts or the pieces broken up and hauled away too. Thicker slabs and slabs with rebar, the steel bars inside, cost more per foot to cut, and walls run higher than floors. A scan or a permit can add time before we start, and your written estimate covers the job you actually want.
- Marking the lines. We mark every cut line on the concrete with you first, so the piece that comes out is the one you meant.
- Scanning the slab. On a structural slab, we talk about scanning for steel, cables, conduit and pipes first, and build that into the schedule.
- Deep cuts. A blade only reaches so deep in one pass, so thicker sections take more passes or a different saw.
- Wall openings. For a door or window, the saw rides a rail bolted to the wall, which keeps the cut straight and controlled.
The cuts we make most often
Most cutting jobs open up a slab or a wall for something new, and some just take out a bad section. Here's the work we're asked for most.
Driveway and patio sections
When part of a driveway or patio has cracked or sunk, we cut out just that section so the rest of the slab can stay in place.
Trenches for lines
We cut a narrow trench through a slab so a plumber or electrician can reach or run a line underneath, and the trench can be filled back in afterward.
Door and window openings
We saw openings through concrete or block walls for a new door or window, sized to the frame that's going in.
Garage and indoor cuts
Indoor cuts take extra planning, because the concrete sawing trade group's guideline calls for proper ventilation with engine saws and lists electric saws as another option.
If your cut isn't on this list, call or send the form and tell us what the concrete is and where it needs to open up.
Why concrete cutting is worth doing carefully
A clean cut gives whatever comes next a solid, straight edge to meet, so a new section or patch sits tight against the old slab. A rough one leaves chipped edges and cracks you'll see long after we've gone.
- Cracks stop at the lineSawing to depth instead of breaking by hand keeps cracks from running past the cut into the slab you're keeping.
- Only what has to goWe take out the damaged part and no more, so the sound concrete around it stays put and keeps working.
- The ground underneathOnce a piece is out, I look at the subgrade, the ground it sat on, because a soft or washed-out base is often why it sank.
- Water sent awayIf the section gets replaced, we check where water will run, so the new piece doesn't tip toward your house.
How a cutting job runs
I come out to look
After you call, we set a time for me to see the site, and I look at the slab, the ground, the drainage and what the concrete carries.
Written estimate and plan
I send a written estimate that says whether it covers the cuts alone or the removal too, and whether a scan or permit comes first, then I answer your questions.
Cutting and walk-through
I'm on site with our crew while we cut and clean up, and when we're done we walk the work with you.
Why homeowners call us for cutting
I grew up on a farm where things got fixed right the first time, and I run cutting jobs the same way. A cut is usually the start of something else, so I plan it around what comes next.
I write your estimate
I come out and price the job myself, so the person who looked at your slab is the one you talk to afterward.
Our crew, with me there
Our own crew runs the saws and the cleanup, and I'm on site with them from the first line to the last.
Honest about small cracks
Concrete can get small cracks, so I tell you before we start where a new edge might show one.
Satisfaction guaranteed on every job

Concrete cutting in North Port and nearby cities
North Port exempts single-family work under $7,500 from building permits, but its exceptions name structural and plumbing work, and any work on a lot even partly in a flood hazard area needs one. Whether your cut needs one depends on the job, so we check with the city's Development Services Department first and pull any permit in our name.
Florida law has excavators notify Sunshine State One-Call at least 2 full business days before excavation or demolition, so the owners of buried lines can mark them, and we build that wait in when a job includes digging or removal. We're fully licensed and insured and work in the cities around North Port, from Port Charlotte up through Venice.
Tell us what needs cutting
Tell us the surface, roughly how many linear feet need cutting and whether the pieces go. We reply within one business day to set up your free, no-obligation estimate on site.

How much does concrete cutting cost in North Port?
Concrete saw cutting across the US usually costs about $4 to $25 per linear foot, and that covers the sawing, not breaking or hauling. On a short cut, a minimum trip charge can set the price more than the footage does. I'll give you a written estimate once I've seen the site.
Will the concrete cutting crew haul the pieces away?
We can, if you want it, because cutting and removal are separate jobs and some cutters make the cuts and leave the pieces where they lie. Breaking, hauling and disposal can add more than the sawing itself, so compare quotes that cover the same work.
How do you keep dust down when cutting concrete?
We cut wet, because water on the blade substantially reduces the dust from sawing concrete, brick and block. The water turns that dust into slurry, a gray mud, which we vacuum up or contain. A small hand saw sometimes cuts dry where water isn't practical, with a vacuum pulling the dust.
Does North Port's permit exemption apply to my concrete cutting job?
The city applies its exemption only to a whole project, so a cut and the new slab poured after it count together, and splitting the work into phases or separate contracts to stay under the limit isn't allowed. We check the rest with the city before we start, and if your job may qualify, we help you put the request together.
