Liberty North Port Concrete is a concrete contractor based in North Port, FL. I come out to Venice to look at each job myself, and then our own crew forms, pours and finishes it. Most of what we do is flatwork, the driveways, patios, pool decks and walks that sit on the ground, along with slabs, footings and walls that have to stay level for years.
- Base dug out and packed first
- Water's path checked before forming
- Finished work walked with you
Driveways, patios and slabs on Venice homes
Across the cities we serve, Venice included, the calls are usually about a driveway that's cracked or sinking, a patio where water sits against the house, or a new slab for an addition or a garage. Where an old slab has settled, the cause is often a subgrade, the ground the slab sits on, that was raked level instead of dug out and packed.
The city keeps a flood zone map and has updated parts of it this year, so before we set forms I like to know where your lot falls on it and where the water runs today. A new slab should carry water away from your walls, not toward them.
Concrete services in Venice
Pick the job you have in mind for your Venice property, and each page explains what the work involves, what moves the price and what to expect from us.
Concrete driveway building
A new driveway dug out to firm ground, packed, reinforced and jointed so it carries your cars without sinking.
Concrete patio construction
For the back of the house, a patio sloped to send rain away from your walls instead of letting it pool.
Stamped concrete services
Patterns pressed into fresh concrete when you want the look of stone or brick over a solid, well-packed base.
Concrete sidewalk building
Walks to the front door or around the side yard, set on packed ground so the panels stay even.
Garage floor concrete
If your garage slab is cracked, stained or uneven, we break it out and pour a new, level floor.
Decorative concrete
Color, borders and textured finishes for concrete that shows, chosen at the estimate so we price what you want.
Concrete retaining walls
Where a yard steps down, a concrete wall holds back the soil, with drainage behind it so water doesn't push on it.
Concrete floor installation
Interior and outbuilding floors poured level and finished smooth, ready for the covering or use that comes next.
Concrete pool decks
Around the pool, a deck with a textured finish for wet feet and a slope that sends splash water off.
Concrete steps construction
Entry and patio steps built with even risers, so every step feels the same underfoot going up or down.
Slab foundation building
A slab for an addition, garage or outbuilding, formed and reinforced to carry the walls that will sit on it.
Foundation installation
When a new structure goes up, we lay out and pour its foundation to the plan so the building starts square.
Concrete parking lot building
For property owners, parking areas built thick enough for steady traffic and graded so water clears the lot.
Concrete footings
Footings under porches, walls, columns or additions, dug to the depth the plan calls for and poured solid.
Foundation raising
Where a slab or foundation has settled, we find out why first, then raise it back toward level.
Concrete cutting
Clean saw cuts for new joints, openings or plumbing access, or to remove a damaged section without breaking the rest.

To set up a visit, call (941) 240-9048 or send the form below with your address and what you have in mind. We take calls seven days a week, 8 AM to 9 PM, and I come out to see the site myself.
What to know before you pour in Venice
The price turns on the slab's size and thickness, how much old concrete and soft dirt comes out, and the finish you choose, while the schedule turns on any permit and the cure before use. When the budget is tight, I'd spend it on the base and keep the finish simple, because the base decides whether the slab stays level. Your written estimate gives your figure.
Before we start, I check whether your address is inside Venice city limits or in the county, since that decides whose rules apply. The city posts a Residential Permit Exemption Policy that took effect July 1, 2026, and Sarasota County's building guidance says specific types of work under $7,500 on single-family homes may be exempt from county permits. When your job may qualify, we help you put the request together.
- Who pulls the permit, and whose name it's issued in
- Where water runs off your lot now, and where it should go
- Your finish, a plain broom texture for grip, stamped or decorative
- Whether old concrete comes out, and how the truck reaches the pour

Questions about concrete work in Venice
Do I need a permit for a concrete project in Venice, FL?
Inside city limits, Venice's Building and Code Enforcement Department requires a permit to build, enlarge, alter or repair a building, and for any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing work. For a driveway or patio, we check with the office that covers your address before we start, and when a permit is needed we pull it in our name and set up the inspections.
How long is a building permit good for in the City of Venice?
A city permit lapses if work doesn't start within six months of being issued, or if work stops for six months after it starts. The city counts a job as active when the permit has an approved inspection within 180 days, and a lapsed permit has to be replaced with a new one before work goes on.
Does a concrete contractor in Venice need a state license?
Yes for paid work that builds a building or structure, because Florida's licensing department says that takes a state contractor's license, and even simple paid electrical work, like connecting two wires, has to go to a licensee. The city also requires a business tax receipt from anyone doing business inside its limits. We're fully licensed and insured.
Will a new concrete driveway crack like my old one?
It can still get small, fine cracks, and I'd rather tell you that now than promise otherwise. What we control is how much the slab moves and where any cracks go, by digging out and packing the base and cutting control joints, shallow grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, on time.
How long will I be without my driveway after a new concrete pour?
Usually a few days before you can walk on it and longer before you drive on it, because concrete gains strength as it cures, the slow hardening after the pour. The thickness, the mix and the weather all play into it, so I'll tell you when your slab is ready for feet and when it's ready for tires.
