Concrete contractor in North Port, FL - slabs that stay level and drain
Liberty North Port Concrete is a concrete contractor based in North Port, FL. We form, pour and finish driveways, patios, pool decks and slabs for homes and properties across the city, and I'm on site for every job.

We're Liberty North Port Concrete, a concrete company I started here in North Port after learning the trade on other crews. We're best known for flatwork, the driveways, patios and pool decks you walk and drive on, built to stay level and drain well. We also pour slabs, footings, walls and parking lots for property owners, and our own crew does the forming, pouring and finishing.
- Ground and drainage checked first
- Owner on site, forms to finish
- Site cleaned and walked with you
North Port homes under oak and pine
The city describes the homes in North Port Estates as tucked beneath thick oak and pine forest, and many sit on three acres or more with horse stables. On a lot like that, a driveway may run well back from the road and carry a truck and trailer, so we size the thickness and the base for the heaviest load it'll see.
Big trees also mean roots, and roots under a slab are a common reason it lifts or cracks. Before we set forms, I look at where the roots run and where rainwater goes, because the subgrade, the soil the slab rests on, has to be dug out and packed solid first.
Concrete work we do in North Port
Pick the job you have in mind to see how we handle it on a North Port property, from a new driveway to lifting a slab that's settled.
Concrete driveway building
A new driveway dug out, packed and poured to carry your cars, and a trailer if you keep horses.
Concrete patio construction
Back patios set to fall away from the house, so rain runs off instead of pooling by the door.
Stamped concrete services
Stamped patterns pressed into fresh concrete when you want the look of stone or brick without loose joints.
Concrete sidewalk building
Front walks poured on a packed base, with control joints cut so any crack runs where we chose.
Garage floor concrete
Garage slabs that stand up to vehicle weight, oil drips and tools, with a smooth finish that sweeps clean.
Decorative concrete
Color, borders and exposed finishes for when plain gray isn't what you want out front or by the pool.
Concrete retaining walls
Where a yard slopes or soil needs holding back, a poured wall with footings and drainage behind it.
Concrete floor installation
Interior and workshop floors, including slabs for barns and outbuildings, poured level and finished for how you use them.
Concrete pool decks
Pool decks with a broom finish, the light texture that keeps wet feet from slipping, sloped away from the water.
Concrete steps construction
Entry steps with even rises so nobody trips, with rebar, steel bars that hold cracked concrete together.
Slab foundation building
Slabs for a new home, addition or garage, with the ground prepared before a single form goes up.
Foundation installation
Foundations for additions, barns and outbuildings, laid out to the plans and set on properly packed ground.
Concrete parking lot building
Parking areas and larger paved spaces for property owners, built thick enough for daily traffic and graded to drain.
Concrete footings
Footings under posts, walls, sheds and stable buildings, dug to the depth the plans call for.
Foundation raising
When a slab or foundation has sunk or tilted, we lift it back toward level and fill the gap underneath.
Concrete cutting
Clean saw cuts for new openings, removing a cracked section or adding control joints to an existing slab.

Before you start a North Port project
The City of North Port Building Department issues building permits, and whether your job needs one depends on the work and the property. Before we start, we check with the city for your address, and when a permit is needed we pull it in our name and set up the inspections.
The price moves with the size of the slab, how thick it has to be, what it carries and how much old concrete or dirt comes out. The schedule turns on any permit, the weather on pour day and curing, the wait before new concrete can take your weight. Your written estimate gives you the figure for your job.
- How big the slab is and what it will carry
- Which way rainwater should run, so it drains away from the house
- Whether old concrete, roots or soft dirt come out first
- That your contractor holds the Business Tax Receipt the city requires

North Port concrete questions
Does a concrete job under $7,500 need a permit in North Port?
It can be exempt. Since July 1, 2026, state law has the city exempt single-family owners and their contractors from a building permit on a complete project under $7,500. You or we send the city's Building Department a written request with the contract showing the work and its value, and we help put it together.
What work doesn't qualify for the $7,500 permit exemption in North Port?
Structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and gas work don't qualify at any price, and the city counts railings, pool barriers, elevated decks and sheds as structural. Work on a property that's partly or fully in a flood hazard area doesn't qualify either, and one job can't be split into smaller contracts to get under the limit.
Will a new concrete driveway in North Port crack like my old one?
It can still get small cracks, because concrete does, but the bad ones usually start with a base that was raked level instead of dug out and packed. That base is hidden once we pour and is the first thing people cut, so I'd rather save on the finish, because no finish holds up on ground that settles.
How long before I can drive on a new concrete driveway?
You can usually walk on it within a few days and drive on it some days after that, because concrete keeps gaining strength while it cures and early weight can crack it. We pour in the cooler part of the day, since midday heat can leave a weak, dusty top, and I'll tell you when it's ready.
