Concrete that stays level and holds up in North Port, FL
Groundwork first, plainly explained
Liberty North Port Concrete forms and pours for homeowners and property owners alike, putting the most care into the ground underneath, because that decides whether the finished concrete stays flat and drains.

We're Liberty North Port Concrete, a concrete crew based in North Port. We're best known for flatwork, the slabs you walk and drive on, like driveways, patios and pool decks, and we also pour slabs, walls, footings and parking lots for property owners. We work here and in the cities around it, from Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte up through Venice and Sarasota.

The price turns on the size, the base work, the finish and site access, and the schedule on any permit and the weather for the pour. I look at all of it on site and set it out in your written estimate.

Concrete driveway building
A new driveway poured on a dug-out, packed base and sloped to shed rain, for when the old one is cracked, sinking or holding puddles.

Concrete patio construction
A patio slab, new or replacing a tired one, built to fall slightly away from your walls so rain runs into the yard instead of against the house.

Stamped concrete services
Stamped concrete is pressed with a pattern and colored while it's fresh, so a patio or walk can look like stone or brick on a sound slab.

Concrete sidewalk building
Walks to the front door, along the side yard or out to the street, laid flat and even so nobody catches a toe on a lifted edge.

Garage floor concrete
When a garage floor is cracked, pitted or settling, we break it out and pour a new slab with a smooth, hard finish that sweeps clean.

Decorative concrete
Color, exposed stone, scored lines and other finishes for concrete that's seen as much as it's used, like an entry, a front walk or a courtyard.

Concrete retaining walls
A poured wall holds back soil where the yard changes level. It needs a proper footing and a way for water to drain from behind it.

Concrete floor installation
Interior concrete floors for shops, additions, sheds and other buildings, poured level on a prepared base and finished smooth enough to work on or cover.

Concrete pool decks
The deck around your pool takes wet feet, splashing and sun. We give it a slip-resistant texture and slope it away from the water and the house.

Concrete steps construction
Concrete steps to a door, porch or lanai, formed so each rise is the same height, because uneven steps are where people trip.

Slab foundation building
A slab foundation is the poured base a house, addition or garage sits on. We set it on packed, level ground with rebar, steel that holds it together.

Foundation installation
For new buildings that need more than a slab, we form and pour the foundation walls and footings to the plans and the inspections your project calls for.

Concrete parking lot building
Parking lots and paved areas for businesses and rental properties, built to carry cars and trucks and graded so rain runs to the drains rather than standing.

Concrete footings
Footings are the wide concrete base under a wall, column or post. We dig and pour them to the size the load needs before anything goes on top.

Foundation raising
If a slab or part of a building has settled, causing cracks and doors that stick, we look at why it sank before we talk about lifting it.

Concrete cutting
Saw-cutting for a new doorway, a utility trench or removing a damaged section, with clean, straight edges so the repair ties in neatly.

How a job runs
Every job starts with me on your property looking at the ground, and it ends with a walk around the finished concrete with you, so nothing is left unsaid.
Get in touch
Call (941) 240-9048 or send the form with a few words about the job. We get back to you within one business day to set a visit.
Site visit and plan
I come out at no charge to look at the ground, the drainage and what the concrete will carry. I send a written estimate and answer your questions.
The pour
I'm on site with our own crew from setting the forms to the last pass of the finish, so you can ask me anything along the way.
Walk-through
When we're done, we walk the work with you and go over what to keep off it while it cures, the wait while it hardens.

Why homeowners call us
The person who looks at your job and writes your estimate is the same person on site when we pour, and that's me. What we talked about in your driveway is what our crew builds, and if something has to change once the old slab is out, I explain it to you before we go on.
Most of our care goes into the ground under the slab, because that work decides whether your concrete stays flat and keeps draining. We dig out soft dirt, pack the base and check where the water runs, and we plan each pour around the heat and wind so the top doesn't dry out too fast while it cures.
We're fully licensed and insured. You can read more about us and how the business started, or call (941) 240-9048 when you're ready to talk about your project.
- One person from estimate to finish
- Ground dug out and packed, not raked

About Liberty North Port Concrete
I grew up on a family farm where whatever broke got fixed at home, and that's where I learned to do a job properly the first time. I learned concrete on other crews, then started this business in North Port in 2017. Today our own crew forms, pours and finishes the work.
- We start with the ground nobody sees once it's poured, because a good finish on a weak base doesn't last.
- We tell you before we begin what to plan for, including the small cracks concrete can get.
- In flatwork we cut control joints, shallow grooves that give a slab a chosen place to crack, before cracks pick their own.
We treat your property the way we'd want ours treated. We keep the site tidy, tell you what's happening as we go, and answer your questions plainly, even the ones about what could go wrong.
What working with us is like
From the first call to the walk-through, you deal with the same person and get plain answers. Here are a few things homeowners and property owners usually run into along the way.
Driveway estimates check the water
On a driveway estimate, I look at which way the old slab falls and where rain would run, because a driveway that tips toward the garage sends water inside.
Garage floors mean moving out
Replacing a garage floor means emptying the garage first, and it stays empty until the new slab has cured enough to park on, so plan where the cars and tools will go.
Stamped patterns chosen first
With stamped concrete, we settle the pattern and the color before pour day, because there's no changing either one once the stamps go down.
Raising starts with why
With foundation raising, the first visit is mostly about finding out why the ground moved, because lifting a slab without fixing that usually means it settles again.
Planning your job and estimate
The visit is where the scope gets settled. I measure, check how the ground drains and ask how you'll use the slab, because a patio for a grill and a driveway for a work truck need different thickness and steel.
The written estimate sets out the work we agreed on at the visit, from the base to the finish, so you can see what you're paying for before anything is dug.
Your choices change it. A stamped or colored finish adds cost, and a broom finish, the light texture that gives grip, costs less. If the budget is tight, I'd rather you trim the finish than the base, because the base is hidden on day one and decides everything after.
- Where the slab starts and ends
- How you'll use it day to day
- The finish and color you want
- How trucks can reach the site
- Whether a permit is needed

Questions about concrete in North Port
How much does a new concrete driveway cost in North Port?
It depends on the size, how much base work the ground needs, the thickness, the finish and whether old concrete has to come out first. A plain broom finish costs less than stamped or colored work. I give you a written estimate after I see the site.
How long before I can drive on a new concrete driveway?
You can walk on new concrete well before you can drive on it, because it keeps hardening for days while it cures. The wait depends on the mix and the weather, so we go over the timing for your slab at the walk-through.
Will my new concrete patio crack like the old one did?
Concrete can still get small cracks, and I'd rather tell you that up front. What we control is the base, the drainage and the control joints mentioned above, which is where most of the bad cracking we see on old slabs started.
Do I need a permit for concrete work in North Port?
It depends on the job and the address, so we check with the city or county office that covers your property before we start. In North Port, the city's Building Department issues building permits, and when one is needed we pull it in our name and set up the inspections.
Does a single-family concrete job under $7,500 need a permit in North Port?
It may qualify for an exemption, and we help you put the request together. The city exempts single-family owners from a building permit for a complete project valued under $7,500 once a written request and the contract reach the Building Department. Structural work, property in a flood hazard area and jobs split up to get under the limit don't qualify.
Do concrete contractors need a business tax receipt in North Port?
Yes, the city requires anyone doing business in North Port to hold a Business Tax Receipt, and renewing by Sept. 30 keeps it active. It's a fair thing to ask any contractor about before you hire.
